Zinfandel Wine Festival in Paso Robles a taste of the good life.

 
 

100614_glassshotThis past weekend my wife and I were given the privilege of attending the Paso Robles Zinfandel Wine Festival on March 19th, 2011.

my wife and I were under the impression that this was going to be a small venue, local wine event that may have had a few wineries, vendors and local artisans with their wares, and at best would be an afternoon out of the house. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised, there were over 100 local wineries, restaurants and food service caterers, whom provided award winning wines and 5 star food services under one roof. There were local celebrities making the rounds and winery officials that were well versed in the wines of the regions and educating the patrons on wine production and the wine services industry.

this was a wonderful opportunity to taste several distinctive vintages as well as try some great foods created especially for the event. Some of the wineries present that I liked best were Peach Canyon, Daou Vineyards, lone Madrone, Midnight cellars, Paso Port, Westberg Cellars, and I made the acquaintance of a new wine producer to the area, Michael Rose Cellars, whom shows great promise. The foods were excellent, and I tried some of the balsamic vinegars by “Be a Gourmet” and Two Little Birds Bakery, which had some of the most delightful petite pastries I have had in a very long time.

Now, as I said this Zinfandel Festival was a great event, much larger and better than I could have imagined, so it is with great pleasure that I announce the upcoming 29th Annual Paso Robles Wine Festival coming on May 20th, 21st and 22nd of 2011, this promises to be a great event and you would be well rewarded to attend.
